OBSERVER SHIELD

On a wet and miserable morning,  25 players took part in the "play the course backwards" event.

Firstly a big thank you  to Junior Carmichael for sponsoring this event again.

The morning started like a scene from a movie starring Signourney Weaver,  "Aliens"   I  here you say, but no, with the light rain and fog and with 2 big guys, namely Denny Dee and Deanie following me on the course, "Gorillas in the Mist" was what I was thinking.

It's bad enough playing the course backwards, but having to walk up the hill from the 3rd tee to the 1st green was a real killer.

Nonetheless, we had a winner and it was bad weather expert, Nipper Simpson, who scored a great score of 41 stableford points, followed by Denis and sponsor Junior with 39 and 38 points.

Big hitter Bobby Milliken nailed the longest drive on the front nine and Nipper the back nine.

With  accurate tee shots at the 8th to the 6th green Billy Ferguson and Denis won the nearest the pins and other nearest the pin at the Rubicon 5th tee to 3rd green was myself.

So thanks again to all competitors and Junior for supplying the prizes and bacon rolls, and of course Patrick for cooking them.

Remember The Winter League starts  Sunday 9th so get yourself out and keep fit during the winter months.

A big thank you, to all members of staff at Innellan Golf Club, from the Greenkeepers and all the House staff  for all their efforts throughout the year, to keep the course in good condition and the Clubhouse most welcoming.

Presentation Dinner Dance is booked for Saturday 3rd December, so see any committee member for tickets.

Lets support this event as its a good night with great food and entertainment.

Look forward to seeing you all there..
