Ladies News

Cancer Research

Thursday last week ladies played a stroke competition, with donations going to Cancer Research.   It was dry which was good, but the midges were hungry and that wasn’t so good.    I would like to thank all the brave souls who came out and for helping to raise £45 for a very worthwhile charity.  Everyone gave generously and I thank you all very much.

Despite the midges, we all enjoyed the golf, our winner on the evening was Jackie Lauder and congratulations to Jackie on a lovely round of golf.   Sheila was delighted to have scored her second 3 in as many weeks, now going for the 2.    Mary found a long lost drain on the 5th and almost disappeared so thanks to Jenny and Lyndsey for helping her out.   I know Mary you did hurt your foot a little and I hope this is now on the mend.

Buth-kollidar Cup

We managed to complete one of the 18 hole competitions on Saturday 18th, the Buth-kolliday Cup.   The weather didn’t look too good when we set off at 10 o’clock, but thankfully it stayed dry and was an enjoyable round of golf.   Thanks to those who played.   The result was 4th Margaret, 3rd Sheila , 2nd Maureen and I was lucky enough to win the trophy for the first time.

Open Mixed Competition

We are now getting some entries for the Open Mixed to be played on 24 July.  Remember to get your entry to me or Andy as soon as you can and if you are looking for a partner, let us know and we will try and arrange something for you.   It is shaping up to be a good day and I hope you will all support this new venture in some way.

Matchplay

Just a wee reminder to hand in your cards for the first round of this competition.

Coming up
This week on Thursday we have the June Medal scheduled and I hope you will all be able to come along.

We are now officially in Summertime, so no more rain and it will be too hot for midges to come out........ well we can always hope!!!

Happy golfing
Irene
