Shaw Trophy

Captains Blog stardate June 9  2011.

Well done to Graham McGillivray, who triumphed in the above event, with a total of 127, pipping 1st round leader, Roddy McIntyre by just one stroke.

Roddy led by 3 strokes going into round 2 but a 2nd round of 68 saw him just miss out on the Trophy by one shot.

Graham having shot a gross 34 on the front nine of round one, and thinking of the season ahead, came back in an ambulance whilst trying to stem the nosebleed of the dizzy heights of Category 1 golf.

With a severe cut in the offing, played not quite as well on the back nine. Not since the days of  David (Tiger) Hodge have we seen such cuts.Well apart from the austerity measures implemented to the coalition government.

Steady scoring again in Round 2 saw Graham shot a 64 to win the Shaw Trophy.

So well done to  Graham.

Next week we have an added bonus, Sunday Golf, for those who cant manage Monday.

The Geoff Arden Trophy has be arranged for Sunday 12th June and Monday 13th sees us take part in the June Medal.

So here is hoping for some good playing conditions and a good turnout to both events.
