Ex Presidents Trophy

Another beautiful day on the First day of August saw 26 players take part for The Club's oldest trophy. The Ex Presidents Trophy was 1st played for in 1896, when some our oldest members were just boys.

In great scoring conditions, in defence of my title I managed to bat round in a nett 61..Also scoring really well with a gross 65 was Steve Ellis. Steve has been  playing away all over Scotland and with the usual +0.1 to be added to his handicap by playing his  home course he knuckled down and played splendidly well, and  needed a 3 up the last to play to his age, alas the excitement was too much for our low senior and he stumbled to a 5, nonetheless a fantastic nett 63.

Back from injury was  Scott Lauffer, who has developed a very good short game and a nett score of 60 secured the trophy.  I believe a mongrel called Nipper or was it, SNAPPER  has helped his game no end, so no need to get any golf lessons from a Pro, just get bitten by a wee dug.

A course in good condition and favourable weather saw 6 players break 64,saw the CSS lower to 63 so thanks to all who took part.
