A beautiful day greeted 18 couples for the very 1st Lido Open Mixed Foursomes. Couples from Blairmore and Strone Golf Club and a couple from overseas,well across the water supported the event.
A 10 am start saw the couples start off in glorious sunshine on a well manicured golf course. All the couples were on the course by 11.30 and on the whole, scoring was good in the stableford format.
A close run thing saw Three Innellan couples win the top awards. 3rd place went to Murray Wilson and Mary MacDonald with 32 points, 2nd place to Duncan and Margaret Lauder with 33 and winners were Douglas Pollock and Maureen Spy with a whopping 35 points, fine scoring indeed.
The novelty prizes of nearest the flag, at the 3rd and 12th, were won by, Innellan members, Graham Black and Sheila McCubbin.A big thank you to all our sponsors and especially, Nancy Morris who provided the wonderful trophy.
An unsung hero was Jenny Marshall ,who rallied the local sponsors, so thank you to her.
So here is hoping for the same again next year and for years to come.
